Firmware
Toolkit
Flexibility in engineering
Firmware solutions, including the FSoE host/device stack for safe communication between devices via the FSoE protocol and our Safety Integrated Core (SIC100), which provides the firmware kernel for a safe device, are another integral part of our toolkit.
The toolkit also contains applications for CPU and memory tests (Test Library Cora), the realisation of safety motion functions (Safety Motion Library) and calculation with single or double precision floating point numbers (Floating Point Library).
Furthermore, the Hardware Abstraction Layer provides a solution for the firmware connection to the respective hardware architecture.
Safety Integrated Core
SIC
The SIC100 firmware core provides basic functionality for every safety device with a SIL3 or PLe rating. It forms the basis for the firmware in our safety toolkit. It integrates seamlessly with all our SIC hardware architectures and is equally compatible with existing or customised hardware designs.
Test Library CORA
Speed boost for your development process
Our powerful CORA test library makes it possible to perform extensive hardware tests in accordance with IEC61508 efficiently and reliably.
The centrepiece of CORA is the innovative test manager, which manages all configured tests and automatically calls up the individual test functions. For the memory test, CORA offers the option of registering different memory blocks and having them systematically processed by the test manager.
Floating Point Library
Implementation according
to IEEE 754 standard
The safe floating-point library is developed and certified as a compliant item for ARM-based platforms. On a single processor, the safe floating-point library can achieve up to SIL2. On dual-channel systems, where results can be cross-checked at the end of the processing cycle, it can reach up to SIL3.
Safe Motion Module
Faster time to market for
safe motion solutions
The Safe Motion module adds safe motion capability to any existing servo drive with hardware safe torque off (STO) capability and supports all safe motion functions in accordance with DIN EN 61800-5-2.
It is characterized by an integrated safety PLC runtime that decouples the safety functionality from the firmware. This allows specific safety functions to be created by original device manufacturers (ODMs) using the Neuron engineering tools. Customized safety logic can be developed from standard safety functions plus the safe motion library from the Neuron toolkit.
Fieldbus Stacks
FSoE-Host/Device-Stack
The highly compact and efficient implementation of the FSoE host/device stack V2 enables integration into very small and cost-effective hardware structures and is characterised by its high-performance runtime behaviour.
Connection to existing EtherCAT structures is possible with little effort thanks to the clear interface structure of the stack. If the original sources are used and the supplied requirements are adhered to or implemented, no further work is required for a type examination by a notified body. Single-channel integration for medium-high safety requirements is also possible (up to SIL2 in accordance with IEC 61508).
